# Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Volunteer #### calendar\_today Date and Time **April 7, 2023** All day Are you a people person with a love of art and museums? Do you like talking with people from around the Greater Boston area and the world? If the answer is yes, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum wants you as a Volunteer! The Gardner Museum is seeking a diverse group of volunteers to assist visitors exploring the museum, gather visitor feedback, and help visitors find their own connection to the Gardner. A strong desire to work with people of all ages and backgrounds and strong communication skills are essential. Volunteers are instrumental in creating a positive visitor experience. They are often the first to welcome visitors and assist them throughout their visit through answering questions about the collection, museum, and its founder. New volunteers will attend 3 training sessions in June 2023. These sessions share information about the Museum, our audiences, and ways to engage our visitors in a meaningful way. Once fully trained, Volunteers work two 2-4 hour shifts a month and attend training for diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI) held throughout the year. Ongoing learning opportunities are provided monthly through Volunteer Salons and a DEAI reading group, which often align with themes in special exhibitions and the permanent collection. We ask volunteers to commit to at least two years to the program, and university and college students asked to commit to at least an academic year. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to attend an information session on Thursday, March 16 from 6-8pm. This is an opportunity to meet Museum staff and current Volunteers, learn more about the program, and participate in small informal group interviews.
