DESCRIPTION:<p>	The Art, Art History, and Film Department welcomes Boston College Professor of Art Sheila Gallagher for a virtual Colloquium Lecture,  "Alone/Together."  Gallagher will present her recent work created as a solo practitioner and in collaboration with students and other artists. Spanning various disciplines, her illustrated talk will explore themes of  art and spirituality, the role of the art object in healing, and the pivotal role that uncertainty plays in the creative process. </p><p>	<a data-url="https:/bccte.zoom.us/j/93467596121" href="https:/bccte.zoom.us/j/93467596121" title="">Join this talk live.</a></p><p>	Sheila Gallagher is an interdisciplinary artist,  educator,  and curator. A hybrid practitioner, she works in many media including video, smoke, live plants, plastic trash, and live drawing performance. Her work has been exhibited and performed at numerous venues including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Smithsonian, the Moving Image Festival, London, the Abbey Theater, Dublin, the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, The Art in Embassies Program, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. She is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Art at Boston College where she teaches classes in drawing, mixed media, and contemporary arts practice.</p>
