This program counts as two semester-long courses (4 credits each) of degree credit. Open to both Harvard and non-Harvard college students, this program explores Shanghai's cultural history and East Asian economic development. Courses include "Shanghai: A Cultural History" and "East Asian Development Models." Delve into the city's layers through seminars, excursions, and field research, gaining insight into its dynamic evolution. Live in an on-campus hotel in a distinguished Chinese academic institution, immersing yourself in intellectual exploration. Applications will be open in early December and due on January 25, 2024. HCSIP blends cultural exploration with professional development, offering internships in diverse industries. The program includes a week-long field trip, connecting students with cultural institutions, entrepreneurs, and academics.
