"The SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium, an entirely virtual event, will take place over Zoom from April 3-6, 2025. We would greatly appreciate you encouraging your students to participate in this event that is now in its seventh year. Your support is truly key in giving students the confidence to apply, and we are enormously grateful for your mentorship and support that in turn makes our event possible.
We welcome papers focused on any topic or scholarly approach within the field of art history and other closely related disciplines (e.g., film studies, archaeology, etc.). Students may present past or present work, whether based on a research paper, an independent study, or an honors thesis. Each talk will be ten minutes in length followed by a brief question and answer session.
All undergraduate students are eligible to apply, including those who might be recent alumni (graduating in May 2024 or after) who have not yet enrolled in a graduate program.
Abstracts of 300 words or less may be sent to heuerk@newpaltz.edu until January 31, 2025. We ask that the submission also include the student’s name, major, academic year, institutional affiliation, and email. Students will be notified whether their paper has been accepted by the end of February. Please share this call for abstracts flyer with your students that provides all submission details.
