Samira Bose studies the production of archives and museum collections in late twentieth-century South Asia, with a particular focus on art historical and anthropological documentation by artists.

Her interests stem from her work at Asia Art Archive in India from 2019 to 2025. As Curator, she was immersed in and activated archives of recent art in South Asia through exhibitions, discursive programs, and artistic interventions. An ongoing preoccupation in her curatorial and writing practice is attending to the structures and processes within archives, and listening to archivists, alongside the study and interpretation of materials.

Before beginning her PhD in the History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University, she completed an MA in Arts and Aesthetics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a BA in History from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
