Summer Grant Opportunities for Undergraduate Students
Application deadline: February 10, 2025
Fairbank Center Summer Grants enable students to pursue language study or research in Chinese studies. Grants can be used for travel to greater China including Taiwan or other locations for academic research or to participate in a language study program. Students are encouraged to plan their project, itinerary and budget in advance and then apply for a grant to help fund the proposed academic activity. To be eligible for summer funding students must be returning to Harvard for the Fall 2025 semester.
Summer Language Grants support undergraduates who plan to enroll in a summer language program for intermediate or advanced language study of languages necessary for research in China Studies.
Note: Students should apply separately to the language program they identify as best meeting their language learning needs. For the Harvard Taipei Academy language program students must first submit an application to Harvard Summer School by January 30, 2025, AND apply to the Fairbank Center Summer Language Grant to be considered for funding support.
Summer Research Grants support undergraduates who plan to conduct academic research in or on Greater China (including Taiwan) during the summer. Priority given to thesis research projects.
Applications are due in CARAT by February 10, 2025.
