Since graduating, Brandon Presser, HAA Class of ’05, has worked in the Louvre, in Tokyo as an architectural apprentice, and in Thailand as a scuba diving professional. From there, he became the youngest person to join the writing team at Lonely Planet, and has since written over 50 travel publications. He has written for multiple publications including Bloomberg, Harper’s Bazaar, Conde Nast Traveler, and Town & Country.

His new book out from Hachette entitled THE FAR LAND: 200 Years of Murder, Mania & Mutiny in the South Pacific, follows a band of fugitives - the mutineers of the HMAV Bounty - and their seventh-generation descendants who, today, live disconnected from the rest of the planet on a remote island. It has received rave reviews from numerous outlets including the New York Times Book Review, which called it “a mash-up of an 18th-century adventure novel and the darkest episode of ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ imaginable.”
