Elena Iourtaeva

Elena Iourtaeva is a graduate student with research interests in illuminated manuscripts, the diagrammatic mode in medieval art, and illustrations to treatises of mysticism, natural philosophy and magic. She is currently the Fragmentarium Fellow at the Houghton Library, leading a research project on the application of the digital humanities to the study of medieval manuscripts. Her other interests include Islamic art, photography, and contemporary art.
