Mary’s research is focused on the visual and material traditions of the ancient Americas, particularly those seen in the Lambayeque Valley on the North Coast of Peru. She is interested in the intermediality between pictorial and textual systems of knowledge and how these mediums interact as vehicles of expression and communication. Previously, Mary held the Lifchez-Stronach Twelve-Month Curatorial Internship at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, during which her work was mentioned in The New York Times. She has also held positions at the Walters Art Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the Johns Hopkins Archaeological Museum. Mary received her BA in History of Art and Political Science from Johns Hopkins University in 2017.
