History of Art & Architecture Research Professor, Joseph Connors, and the Gardner's William & Lia Poorvu Curator of the Collection, Nathaniel Silver will be offering a lecture on Isabella Stewart Gardener's Acquisition of the famous Raphael portrait of Inghirami, and the layers of Vatican history it reveals.  

 

Tickets are required and include Museum admission.

Adults $15, seniors $12, students $10, free for members and children 17 and under

Rome, known as the “common fatherland,” was the goal of pilgrims, travelers, and artists from all over Europe. One of the most celebrated was Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720–1778), a Venetian who spent his entire career in Rome.
