Departmental Writing Fellow, 2020-2021
David Sadighian, Ph.D. Candidate
Welcome!
The Departmental Writing Fellow (DWF) is a resource for all undergraduates enrolled in History of Art & Architecture (HAA) courses who would like help with their writing. I am available to answer questions and provide feedback regardless of where you are in the writing process: from developing initial ideas, to formulating an argument, to editing a draft, to understanding the conventions of writing and scholarship in HAA.
Schedule an Appointment
Please reach out to me, David, to set up a meeting. I offer two types of appointments: a 30-minute introductory appointment to develop ideas and strategies for your upcoming assignment; and a 1-hour appointment during which we will closely review your draft.
You can reach me via email. Please put "Request for Writing Appointment" in your subject line.
Instructions for Students Seeking Draft Feedback
If you want comments on a draft, please send it to me as a Word document prior to your appointment. Drafts shorter than 8 pages can be sent at the beginning of our scheduled discussion; I will review the paper line by line as we talk. Drafts of a term paper (8+ pages) or a thesis chapter should be sent 2 hours prior to your appointment to give me adequate time to review your text. All drafts should be accompanied by a brief description of the assignment and any issues or concerns you'd like to discuss.
