Modern and Reformed: Carlos Jiménez + Patricio Del Real in Conversation

Date:

Thursday, March 28, 2024, 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location:

519 West 26th St, Second Floor, New York, NY

A one-on-one conversation between Professor of Architecture Carlos Jiménez NA, principal of Carlos Jiménez Studio, and Patricio Del Real, PhD, Associate Professor of History of Art and Architecture, Harvard University. The evening will feature an overview of Jiménez’s 40-year practice and a focus on his project for Won Buddhism of Houston (2015-2021), which is on view in Sites of Impermanence. Jiménez understands architecture’s value as a life force: generous and sustaining, inspiring and optimistic, ancient and modern, wise and expectant, discreet and intrepid, ephemeral and enduring. For him, it is also “built thought,” whose unfolding pages are built by time alone.
