Colin

Colin Sanborn received his B.A. in Art History from Oberlin College in 2019, where he concentrated on the art of the sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Hispanic world. His research up to this point has primarily focused on court painting in Golden Age Spain, culminating in an Honors thesis on the role of disabled subjects in the court portraits of Diego Velázquez, which is presently being revised for publication in the forthcoming second volume of Disability and Art History. He is interested more broadly in the development of portraiture as a genre, early modern theories of imagination and vision, and the intersections of art history and disability theory.
